H.H. Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al-Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, will, next Monday, sponsor the opening ceremony of the National Open Data Symposium at the Kempinski Hotel, Al Mouj Muscat, which will last for three days.

This Symposium aims at casting light upon Open Data (concept and importance). It also tackles their usages and impacts on the Sultanate rating at the international indicators system. The Symposium also aims at analyzing the Sultanate’s position in the Open Data, reaching out agreements amongst public sector institutions concerned with the databases that could be opened and made available to the public.It is worth mentioning that the National Open Data Symposium will be attended by a number of international organizations and statistical agencies from several countries across the world, as well as those concerned with the Open Data.
